Gifts in Kind/Product DonationsTradeshow Donation Program: NSSEA Exhibitor Donations to Title I Schools Exceeds $200,000 in Value The NSSEA Foundation’s product philanthropy partnership with Gifts In Kind International continues to grow, permitting us to provide Title 1 schools with more school supplies and equipment. Members are responding generously at our tradeshows, donating products they exhibit through Gifts In Kind instead of shipping them back home. Gifts In Kind International President and CEO, Richard Wong, said it was the largest donation his company's tradeshow program ever received; a notable realization considering Gifts in Kind is the seventh largest charity in the United States. Courtesy of 120 suppliers attending NSSEA's 2007 School Products Expo last month in Atlanta, $204,016.83 worth of school supply materials flowed through the Gifts in Kind charitable tradeshow program and into Title I schools operating in the Atlanta school district. Year-Round Giving Program Gifts In Kind will customize a product donation program for you so you can donate at any time during the year when you have available inventory. In addition, Gifts In Kind will provide their full range of logistics services, as well as manage all requests for contributions and provide comprehensive donation tracking and reporting essential to qualify for the appropriate tax deduction. NSSEA's relationship with Gifts In Kind began in 1993. Since that time, NSSEA members have donated approximately $1 million in brand-new equipment, furniture, materials and supplies to a variety of charities. NSSEA’s donation program provides new educational materials to nonprofit organizations and Title 1 schools offering learning enrichment programs for underprivileged, displaced and at-risk children. The program enables NSSEA members to donate available inventory to help needy children and realize bottom-line business benefits - at no cost. Members who participate in the program report streamlined inventory control, reduced reverse logistics costs, lower warehousing and handling fees, and a tax deduction of up to twice the cost. Contributions may be made from manufacturing sites, distribution centers, retail outlets, company facilities, catalog shoots, tradeshows, or anywhere that educational products are available across the United States.
